After Reading Her Boyfriend's Text That Called Her "Massive," This Woman Lost 60 Pounds
We can think of a lot of things we wouldn't want to see on our boyfriend's phone: Tinder, porn, flirty FB messages from the colleague he swears is just a good pal, and a text to one of his buddies describing us as "massive." That's what happened to Amy Jones, who at 210 pounds said her boyfriend had always supported her, even after she had gained weight. "He always said that I looked fantastic and he liked me with a fuller figure when I asked him if I should lose weight. I was reassured by his comments even though I knew that I was getting out of shape," she told Mirror. Somewhat ironically, Amy attributes her weight gain to moving in with him. "He was a body builder who was at the gym all the time. I would basically eat the same meals as him and then not work out." She broke up with him shortly after reading the text, but it wasn't just that jarring message that acted as her wake-up call. After seeing a picture of herself taken at her dad's wedding, next to a tractor, Amy says "I thought, 'This is not me — this is not who I want to be.'" So she ditched her diet of chips and pasta, and started focusing on healthier eating like butternut squash soup, grilled chicken and veggies, and dried coconut for a treat. Since then, Amy has lost nearly 60 pounds. "I don't harbor any grudge about the text message. He was only telling the truth. I just wish that he had been a bit more honest with me beforehand because I might not have got into such bad shape."
