Cara Delevingne: "Suck My Boobs"
With surefire summer box office hit Paper Towns
debuting in cinemas next weekend, model-slash-actress-slash-everything
Cara Delevingne will be showing off her acting chops on the big screen
for the first time in a leading lady role. (She's previously featured in
Anna Karenina, Amanda Knox-themed movie The Face of an Angel, and T-Swift's "Bad Blood" music video, but of course, and has a long list of films in production, including live action Peter Pan remake Pan, and DC Comics extravaganza Suicide Squad.) And in a great new interview with TIME magazine,
she has a succinct message for folks of the opinion that her skills
won't cut it. "If anyone just thought I was trying to pad my resume
[with the roles]," she explained, "they can suck my boobs." So there,
haters.
In a similar vein, perhaps, Cara has offered a clarification to those who've critiqued her sexuality of late. In a recent Vogue profile, her parents were quoted saying they believed her current relationship, with the singer St. Vincent,
represents "a phase." The magazine's writer man-splained a
hella patronizing theory at her also, don't you know, suggesting her
relationships with other women stem from her apparent belief "that women
are perennially troubled and therefore only women will accept her."
(Unimpressed by that faux-logic? You're not alone.) So while Cara told The New York Times she didn't find "anything malicious" in Vogue's take on her love life, she did add that "my sexuality is not a phase.
